Brand profile

Johnson Window Films

Johnson Window Films’ international distributor page lists Sunting Korea in Bucheon, with the Korean telephone number 1588-2778. The listing provides a manufacturer-published Korean contact.

The company’s current About page says all of its window-film products are manufactured in the United States by Madico, Inc. A separate January 21, 2026 announcement says Madico entered a definitive agreement to acquire Johnson Laminating & Coating and Johnson Window Films and outlines the planned integration.

How the current range is organized

The official automotive catalogue presents Supreme IR and InsulatIR as nano-ceramic ranges, Marathon as a metallized-and-dyed hybrid, Renegade as a non-metal signal-safe film, Ray Guard Carbon as carbon film and Summit as ceramic film. PlexShade is a separate two-ply dyed product for plastic glazing on off-road and farm vehicles.

The rows below use nearby, rather than identical, mid-range VLT grades from page 1 of an official specification sheet. All values are for film mounted on 1/4-inch (6 mm) clear glass. The sheet says its tests, equipment and methods follow ASTM, ANSI and NFRC standards, with calculations made using Lawrence Berkeley Lab’s Optics/Window 6; it labels the values typical and comparative.

Nearby mid-range grades in Johnson’s global specification sheet
Range and grade Published VLT TSER
Supreme IR SUPR 35 32% 60%
InsulatIR IR 35 32% 50%
Marathon MN 35 37% 43%
Renegade RN 35 36% 35%
Ray Guard RG 35 37% 50%

Use the table to compare construction and performance at broadly similar light levels; do not read the grade suffix as the published VLT. Summit appears in the live catalogue but not in the linked specification sheet, so request its current data sheet before comparing it numerically.

Before choosing a Korean installation

Ask the listed Korean distributor or installer which series and grades are stocked locally, and request the current specification sheet and legal VLT for the glass position. Johnson’s policy page says warranties vary by region and are honored only for installations within local legal limits. Confirm the Korean warranty terms for the quoted product rather than carrying over a warranty period from another market.
